Remember when a car reached 100,000 miles, it was considered close to be wore out? Well, now with fuel injection, better oils and filters, etc., it is not uncommon to get over 200,000 trouble-free miles. A big part in achieving this is to follow your cars maintenance schedule. Just by changing the oil and filter every 3,000 miles will extend the life of all engines. Transmission flushes, filter changes, etc. will also contribute to a car's longevity. Also, save receipts, keep a log of your service schedule so when you decide to update your transportation, a dealer like myself will give you more for your vehicle on trade, as a vehicle with service records shows me that it had a caring owner, which means more trade in value.
