Journal Writing Project - Always last minute

This may sound weird, but it took me until my senior year to notice something about me. I have always gotten my work done, and always got the grades I wanted. The thing I didn't realize is how much I procrastinated.
My teacher had been hounding me about my physics paper for weeks. He assigned it to us at the beginning of the semester and I continued to put it off and put it off. The week it was due, my teacher would mention it every day and even let us work on it in class. I didn't get much done in class; I was asking the teacher several questions about a different assignment. The night before it was due I sat down at my computer and said I have to get this done; although, that didn't work. I decided Facebook needed a little attention from me. Not too long later, I noticed it was eleven at night and I hadn't started my paper. How disappointed would my teacher be if I didn't turn it in? I would lose ten percent just because it was late. These were the thoughts going through my head. I decided it needed to get done and I actually finished it by midnight.
Now, looking back on this situation just a few weeks ago, I don't think it was a good idea to wait so long. I have another paper that is due, and I haven't started that one either. I know procrastination is bad and teachers always say not to procrastinate, but technology has made it so easy to be distracted from homework.
I decided to set a goal for myself when I am in college this fall. I will not procrastinate with my homework and papers for the night before. I will stay on top of my homework and not allow technology to get in the way because I am paying for the classes and they aren't cheap. My advice for any high school student is do not procrastinate. Procrastination only gets worse as the years go on if you allow it to.
