Community theatre announces summer schedule

Spring Valley - Brave Community Theatre of Spring Valley has announced their summer 2011 performance schedule. This year, BCT will offer two crowd-pleasing favorites - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Nunsense.

The first theatrical offering of BCT's 2011 summer season is the whimsical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a Children's play by Richard R. George adapted from the fantasy by Roald Dahl. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be presented at the Spring Valley Community Center on Friday July 1st and Saturday July 2 at 7:00 pm and on Sunday July 3 at 3:00 pm. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Dani Vogel, will be presented in conjunction with Freedom Fest activities.

Auditions for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be held on Tuesday May 17, 2011, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday May 19, 2011 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Kingsland High School Choir Room. The script calls for 18-22 actors and actresses - ages 8 thru 18. One adult male role is also available. Rehearsals, scheduled to begin in late May/early June, will be held on weekday mornings in Spring Valley.

Casting of the five zany Sisters from Hoboken is complete for the Ag Days hilarious musical comedy, Nunsense with book, music and lyrics by Dan Goggin and direction by Laurie Helmers. Nunsense will be performed at the Spring Valley Community Center with evening performances on Wednesday, August 17, Thursday, August 18, and Friday, August 19 and a matinee on Saturday, August 20.
