RRED Special Education Superintendent’s Meeting
Monday, January 10, 2005
Meeting called to order. Present were: Myrna Luehmann, Rick Lamon, Phil Minkinnen, Greg Ehresmann, Jim Busta, Dan Collett, Diane Strahl, and Mary Rae.
Agenda approval moved by M. Luehmann and with a second by P. Minkinnen. Minutes of December 2004 meeting were moved approved by J. Busta with a second by M. Luehmann. Bill payments for January 2005 were reviewed. Approval was moved by J. Busta with a second by G. Ehresmann. D. Strahl updated the group on the expenditure budgets. Current spending levels will be reviewed and any changes to accounts will be made as needed.
L. Johnson presented a preliminary report on the audit. Final changes will be made to the report and it will be presented to the RRED Board on January 19, 2005.
A long term substitute has been hired to cover a maternity leave of an RRED employee in the Kingsland District. Meet and confer results were shared with the group. Programs will be examined for continuance at the next RRED Board meeting. A letter of commendation was presented to G. Ehresmann for his contribution to the contracted personnel settlement. Kansas Learning Strategies will be presented in February and March 2005. The strategies are research proven methods to improve students’ academic skills.
Dan Collett, lead teacher for the day treatment program, gave an update on the program activities. He will draft a plan for program evaluation to present at the February meeting.
Next meeting is February 14, 2005, at 9am in the RRED conference room.
