The Section 1A true team track meet was held on Tuesday the 10th in Rushford. Fifteen boys and girls track teams descended to determine state qualifiers. Three of the four Fillmore County girl's teams found themselves in the top half of the field. Rushford-Peterson-Houston placed 3rd, 4.5 points (722.5) behind 2nd place Pine Island (727). Shot-putter Jaci Adcock was the only RPH participant to finish either 1st or 2nd. Chatfield finished 4th (608) with distance runners Kayla Woltz and Karen Gomez going 1-2 in both the 1,600 and 3,200-meter races. Fillmore Central-Lanesboro finished 6th (558.5) and Kingsland 15th (176.5). Lake City prevailed with 857 points. On the boy's side of the equation, Chatfield kept their team state hopes alive. They didn't finish first. Winona-Cotter did (831). However, the Gopher's runner-up finish (802) earned them a spot in a virtual meet of the other section 2nd place finishers to crown a wild card true team state entrant. L-FC and R-P-H finished 5-6. L-FC's Mitch Johnson and Tanner Ristau swept first in the 100 and 200 meter races. The Tro-cane's Dalton Mensink won the long jump. Kingsland finished 15th.
