Offensive explosion

The FCL baseball team started the year off nicely; three wins in four games. Their only loss was a 2-1 defeat at the hands of state-ranked Wabasha-Kellogg. Things then soured. They notched one win in seven games. The later three games of that span, they scored a total of two runs. They must have been saving up for the Dover-Eyota Eagles. Colton Hampel went 3-5, smacked a pair of doubles, and drove in four runs. Tyler Eickhoff liked things in threes; he had three hits, a triple, three runs scored, and three RBI's. Nick Ebner (RBI, 3 runs), Darren Hill (2 RBI's), and Zach Olstad all had two hits, the later his first HR of the season (3 RBI's). Dan Gatzke was only 1-3, but reached twice on walks, stole three bases, and scored three runs. All of that offset the Eagle's power detonation, as Adam Borst (2-3, 3 RBI's), Drew Turnquist (2-4, 2 RBI's), and Justin Johnson (1-3) all went yard. The Falcons 15-hit, 14-run day exceeded the Eagles 8-hit, 8-run day. FCL got a much-needed victory.
