Notice for Bids for sale of Municipal Liquor Store

Sealed bids will be received for the sale of the City of Houston Municipal Liquor Store.

The bids are for the inventory, stock, bar fixtures, building and land legally described as Lot Eight (8) of Block Thirteen (13) of Mons Anderson Addition to Houston, Houston County, Minnesota.

Bids will be opened at 8:00 PM on the 13th day of June 2005, in the Nature Center Meeting Room for the City of Houston, Minnesota.

A Surety Bond or a Certified Check must accompany all bids in the amount of five per cent (5%) of the bid. Purchaser must be able to be licensed under the laws of the State of Minnesota and City Ordinance. Bid Price will include the cost of both an on-sale and off-sale liquor license. Purchaser must agree to maintain the facility as an on-sale/off-sale liquor establishment for at least 24 months. Purchaser must agree to contract with the Houston Chamber of Commerce to sell charitable gambling pull-tabs for at least 24 months. Sale is contingent on city enacting a liquor control ordinance.

Bidders may examine the building and inventory by appointment with Manager Deb Thompson during business hours by calling (507) 896-3232.

The City of Houston reserves the right to reject any and all bids as authorized by law.
