The Kingsland boys' basketball team went 2-0 on the week, beating Southland 74-61 and Chatfield 58-44. Against Southland, three Knights hit double figures, Joey Strike (13), Justin Buchholz (12), and Nick Bly (11). Buchholz notched a double-double grabbing 10 rebounds, helping the Knights out-rebound the Rebels by 22. Against Chatfield, Strike again led the Knights in scoring (12). A balanced attack propelled Kingsland from there as five other players scored 6 or more. The Knights are now 2-2 (2-1 in conference).
The Knight girls defeated Southland by eight (64-56) behind Molly Geiner's 31 points. She was 11 of 17 from the field. Lindsey Tart added 9 while Cheyenne Losey had 5 rebounds and 7 assists. At Chatfield, the Knights had a couple attempts to tie the game at the end, but the Gophers prevailed 54-51. Lindsey Tart led the Knights with 13. Losey had an 11-point/rebound double-double. Geiner had nine points and five assists. The girl's record now stands at 5-2 (2-2 in the Three Rivers).
