Preston man found guilty of terroristic threats

Loren Todd Saxon, 44, from Preston appeared before Judge James A. Fabian in District Court on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, for sentencing. Mr. Saxon was charged with seven counts of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. The court found him guilty of count 4, making terroristic threats and reckless disregard of the risk in causing such terror. All other charges in the complaint were dismissed. The court ordered the defendant to be committed to the Commissioner of Corrections and to serve 12 months and one day in the St. Cloud facility. Two-thirds of that sentence is to be spent in prison with one-third of the sentence on supervised release. Execution of sentence was stayed for five years. The defendant was sentenced to serve 30 days in the Fillmore County Jail with credit for the four days already served. He was placed on supervised probation for a period of five years, and if the defendant is compliant with the terms of his probation, remaining jail time will be forgiven. In addition, the defendant was ordered to pay fines and fees totaling $190.00.
