One of the best ways is to "package" your policies with the same company. With most companies you can get a multipolicy discount by having the home, auto, umbrella and even life all together. Raising your deductibles is another way. The standards from ten, even twenty years ago of having lower deductibles have changed. By taking on a little more risk by raising the deductible can be quite a cost savings. Make sure you are getting all the credits you deserve. The Good Student Discount and the Defensive Driving Discount on the auto side are discounts that can save some money. On the home side, protection credits for dead bolt locks, fire extinguishers and smoke/fire/co2 alarms. And also, security systems are good ways to save some money. But, the best way is for you to call your agent and review your policy to make sure you are getting the most bang for your buck.
