Felony Charges
Bruce Mitchell Kutchara, 50, of Chatfield, was charged in Fillmore County District Court on Monday, July 17, with making terroristic threats, a felony.
According to court records, it is alleged that on July 12, 2006, Kutchara assaulted a minor male living in the house where Kutchara resided. It is further alleged that when Chatfield police arrested Kutchara, he made threatening remarks to a Chatfield police officer.
Kutchara is also charged with domestic assault, assault in the fifth degree, obstructing the legal process, and disorderly conduct, all gross misdemeanor charges.
Judge James Fabian released Kutchara on his own recognizance on the condition that he remain law abiding, have no contact with the victim and remain off alcohol and drugs. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 24, 2006.
Joel Orvin Torgerson, 36, of Canton, was charged in District Court with making terroristic threats, a felony.
According to the criminal complaint, it is alleged that on June 8, 2006, Torgerson assaulted a Canton woman at her residence. It is further alleged that Torgerson made threatening remarks to the victim and prevented the woman from calling 911.
Torgerson is also charged with domestic assault, interfering in a 911 call, and assault in the fifth degree.
Judge Fabian released Torgerson on his own recognizance on the condition that he remains law abiding, has no contract with the victim and remains off alcohol and drugs. He must also comply with an order for protection.
Torgerson's next court appearance is scheduled for July 24, 2006.
