This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.
On August 17, 2021, the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC) awarded 22 grants for a total of $100,000 in funding to individual artists and arts organizations throughout southeastern Minnesota.
SEMAC is the State Arts Board-designated granting authority for local/regional arts producing and sponsoring organizations and disburses funds allocated for this purpose by the Minnesota State Legislature. The SEMAC region includes the counties of Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha, and Winona.

•Anna Loney received a $5,000 Individual Artist Grant for Fish/fence sculpture on Parkway Ave.
•Karl Unnasch received a $5,000 Individual Artist Grant for Rural Route Mercantile.
Goodhue County
•John Wells received a $5,000 Individual Artist Grant for Five “Material Focused” Paintings.
•Bells of the Bluffs Handbell Ensemble received a $5,000 grant for General Operating Support.
Mower County
•Sylvia Hernandez Rodriguez received a $3,000 Individual Artist Grant for Experiencing a Fun Fiesta!.
•Matchbox Children’s Theatre received a $5,000 grant for General Operating Support.
Olmsted County
•Chris Allen received a $5,000 Individual Artist Grant for Seed Bead Rock Garden Installation.
•Kathleen Covalt received a $5,000 Individual Artist Grant for Women’s Voices through Music.
•Melissa Eggler received a $3,000 Individual Artist Grant for “Coming Around.”
•Teaki Garcia received a $3,000 Individual Artist Grant for Habitat.
•Robert Gardner received a $5,000 Individual Artist Grant for Chamber Opera.
•Michael Terrill received a $5,000 Individual Artist Grant for Fires of Denmark – Relativity.
•Rochester Chamber Music Society received a $5,000 grant for General Operating Support.
•Rochester Male Chorus received a $5,000 grant for General Operating Support.
Rice County
•Geralyn Thelen received a $5,000 Individual Artist Grant for Learning to use Dam Molds in fused glass.
•Matthew Wehling received a $5,000 Individual Artist Grant for Use of Machines in a Traditional Craft.
•Scott Roberts received a $5,000 Individual Artist Grant for ADA, me and the Minnesota Art Community.
Steele County
•Owatonna Arts Council received a $5,000 grant for General Operating Support.
Winona County
•Scott Leddy received a $3,000 Individual Artist Grant for Pollinators + of Driftless Prairie.
•Matthew Wagner received a $3,000 Individual Artist Grant for Animals of the Driftless.
•Gina Favano received a $5,000 Individual Artist Grant for Stories From The Back Channel Podcast.
Winona Symphony Orchestra received a $5,000 grant for General Operating Support.
