Kathryn Ann Johnson, age 76, formerly of Robbinsdale, passed away on February 9, 2017, due to Alzheimer’s. Kathryn was born on June 10, 1941, and grew up in Preston, Minn., on the family farm. She graduated from Preston in 1959. After graduation she attended the University of Hawaii, earning a degree in history. She married Roger Johnson on April 25, 1964. They had three sons: Matthew, Theodore and Andrew. After raising her children, she went back to school at Augsburg University, Minnesota, where she received her teaching license. She enjoyed living in Robbinsdale with her family, playing bridge (Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League), canning, baking, and gardening. She also worked at Robbinsdale DMV.
She is survived by three sons; Matt (Marcy) Johnson, Ted (Renate) Johnson, and Andy (Alicia) Johnson; granddaughter Tawnya, grandsons Gray and Finn; sister Patti, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at Elim Lutheran Church, 3978 W. Broadway, Robbinsdale, on Friday, February 16 at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
