Jeanette K. Budde, 85, of Preston, Minn., died on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Mayo Clinic- St. Marys Campus in Rochester, Minn.
Jeanette Katherine Gartner was born on December 28, 1935, to Frank and Ella (Scanlon) Gartner. Following her graduation from Preston High School, she worked as an EEG Technician at Mayo Clinic. In April of 1956, Jeanette married Daniel Schmidt and to this union, three sons were born; Ron, Rod, and Jon. They later divorced. Jeanette was united in marriage to Francis Budde on December 28, 1982, in Peru, Ill.
Jeanette enjoyed reading and traveling as well as cooking, baking, gardening, and growing strawberries. She also enjoyed sewing and was very talented at making clothing.
Jeanette is survived by her three sons: Ron Schmidt of Spring Valley, Minn., Rod (Bev) Schmidt of Loveland, Colo., and Jon (Kimberly) Schmidt of Thornton, Colo.; four grandchildren: Rachael Schmidt, Caleb Schmidt, Erin Schmidt, and Erik Schmidt; siblings Rita Wilson of Preston, Jerry (Nancy) Gartner of Preston, and sister-in-law Viola Gartner of Chatfield, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis, brother Jim Gartner, and brother-in-law David Wilson.
Funeral Mass for Jeanette will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at 2 p.m. at St. Columban Catholic Church in Preston. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Masks are required and social distancing will be practiced. Burial will take place at Memorial Park South in Grand Forks, N. Dak.
