The Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation recently announced a Major Gift Fundraising challenge to all of their community foundations. The goal of this SMIF challenge is to promote major endowment gifts by matching donations to help grow the philanthropic base in Southern Minnesota. SMIF has offered a dollar-for-dollar match on a single donation in the range of $5,000-$15,000 towards the respective community’s endowment fund. The Preston Area Community Foundation is very pleased to announce that F & M Community Bank has donated $15,000 in this challenge which has been accepted and matched by SMIF with another $15,000 for a combined $30,000 Endowment Fund Gift to PACF.

“When we found out about the matching program, we immediately offered to do what we could to get those matching funds,” said Dan Christianson, CEO of F & M Community Bank. “After all, how often can we get a 100% return on our investment in the Preston Area! This investment on behalf of F & M and SMIF will benefit our area for years to come.”

“PACF is honored to accept this major donation and we thank F & M Community Bank and SMIF for their commitment to PACF and for recognizing that together we can all make a positive impact improving the quality of life in our area,” Stated chair Will Mensink. This matching opportunity carried restrictions and was available on a first come first serve basis. We commend F& M Community Bank for so promptly stepping forward.”
