James Knudsen, Peterson, Minn., will exhibit Angus cattle at the 2013 National Junior Angus Show at the American Royal Complex, Kansas City, Mo., July 5-11, reports Robin Ruff, director of junior activities for the American Angus Association®.

James, a junior member of the American Angus Association with headquarters in St. Joseph, Mo., is one of 741 young Angus breeders from 33 states who have entered a total of 1,599 head in the show.

Jonathan Perry, Fayetteville, Tenn., will judge the bred-and-owned cattle and cow-calf pairs. Chris Mullinix, El Dorado, Kan., will evaluate the owned heifers. Ryan Rathmann, Lubbock, Texas, will judge the steers.

In addition to the traditional cattle show, this year’s event will include a beef cook-off; team sales competition; and public speaking, photography, graphic design, writing, poster and other contests.

The National Junior Angus Show is sponsored by the American Angus Association and the National Junior Angus Association (NJAA) and hosted by the Missouri Angus and junior Angus associations this year. The NJAA serves a membership of over 5,000 junior Angus breeders in the United States and Canada. For more information, go to www.angus.org/njaa.
