Lanesboro, Minn. – Al Batt – writer, speaker, storyteller and humorist -- and RavensFire – lively Irish music featuring beautiful vocals and lively mandolin and fiddle -- will be special guests on the ‘Traditions’ themed “Over the Back Fence” community variety show this month. The show will take place on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Mane Theatre. The show will feature poems, skits and music, including a ‘Summer Vacations’ skit, ‘Matchmaker, Matchmaker’ by cast members from Fiddler on the Roof, and ‘Charades’ with Karrie and our host Damon Prestemon (your chance for audience participation!). Rita Dalzell will be on the keyboard, and we’ll hear from sponsors from Bluff Country Computer Works and Niagara Cave. Seating starts at 7 p.m. and pre-show music begins at 7:10 p.m. featuring Paul Schmidt.

The “Over the Back Fence” community variety show is a program of Lanesboro Arts Center, onstage at the St. Mane Theatre on second Fridays March through November in 2014. Every show is unique, with a different theme and brand new material! Each show is also broadcast on KFIL Radio 103.1FM at 7 p.m. on the Sunday nine days following each live show, AND on Winona State University’s KQAL on the Wednesday five days after the show at 6:30 p.m. on 89.5FM (also available for streaming at www.KQAL.org). Show tickets: $8 adult / $5 student, available in advance at Lanesboro Arts Center, 507-467-2446, and at the St. Mane Theatre beginning at 6:30 p.m. on show nights. The St. Mane Theatre is located at 206 Parkway Ave N. in Lanesboro, Minn.
