“Lanesboro Live” upcoming events planned

LANESBORO, Minn. – Damon Prestemon’s “Lanesboro Live” show will offer an eclectic mix of entertainment for the upcoming show on Saturday, October 4, 2014, 7:30 pm at the St. Mane Theatre.

Darren Wendt, aka ‘Sidonia Dudval’, will talk with Damon about Rochester Girls Inc., a not-for-profit organization whose drag shows raise money for regional charities. Rochester Girls is gearing up for “At the Glamor Manor”, a drag review in Lanesboro on October 18. Singer and violinist Adria Ramos will take the stage, with her musical brand of lyric-driven acoustic with an edge – like Joni Mitchell meets Ani DeFranco meets Paul Simon. She performs across the Midwest as a solo musician, as well as with her band, Jones. Adria Ramos is a singer, songwriter, and violinist based in Neenah, Wisconsin. ‘Aunt Evelyn’ will make an appearance in her wanna-be hipster outfit, and The Slick Newhouse Band will play a few tunes.

“Lanesboro Live” features show host & creator Damon Prestemon’s comedy and spontaneity, music and dancing, and on-the-spot interviews with a wide range of guests. The Slick Newhouse Band provides high-energy music featuring top-notch musicians Stela Burdt on back-up vocals, Nathan Davidson on saxophone, Jerry Barrett on trumpet, Eric Amundrud on drums, Geoff Forscher on bass, and Kevin Carey on guitar. Presented by Lanesboro Arts, “Lanesboro Live” is self-rated as ‘PG-13’. Following this October 4 show will be the season finale holiday show on December 6. Show tickets are $15/$12 LAC members, available in advance at Lanesboro Arts, (507) 467-2446, and at the St. Mane Theatre beginning at 6:30 pm on show nights. The St. Mane Theatre is located at 206 Parkway Ave N. in Lanesboro, Minn. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

For more than thirty years, the Lanesboro Arts Center has been working to fulfill its mission of serving as a regional catalyst for artistic excellence and educational development in providing diverse art experiences for people of all ages.
