Chosen Valley Community Foundation “Chill Fest”

The 12th annual Chatfield “Chill First” Celebration will be held this year on Saturday, January 12 in Chatfield. The celebration will have many events in Mill Creek Park and Groen Park along with other events occurring throughout Chatfield the whole day.

One of the highlights of the Chill Fest Celebration is the annual Polar Plunge to be held again at Mill Creek Park. This will be a fundraiser benefit for St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The plunge will take place at 2 p.m. sharp at the Mill Creek Bridge on County Road 2. Potential Plungers are encouraged to pick up pledge forms and waivers that are available at Dave’s Barber shop in Chatfield, or can get forms on the City of Chatfield, Minnesota web site. Plungers are encouraged to obtain pledges in hopes of raising funds for st. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

New events include:

•Rummage I Antique sale, for Habitat for Humanity, at The Chatfield Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

•Bean Bag Toss tournament for Chatfield Youth Fast pitch Softball Association held at Bernard’s Bus Garage registration at 10 a.m., event from 11 a.m. - untill completed.

•The Cub Scouts will again have a Turkey Bowling event in Mill Creek park prior and after the Polar Plunge.

Returning events include:

•The Health Fair being sponsored by Olmsted Medical Center and Help Our Neighbors. Held at St. Mary’s Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

•Bunco Party, by Women’s Community/Club at The Thurber Building/City Hall at

3 p.m.

•Chili Supper/Chile & Salsa Contest! Craft sale at Pioneer Presbyterian Church 4:30 p.m. untill 6:30 p.m.

•Candlelight Snow Shoe Walk by the Bluff Country Hiking Club at 5:30 to 6:30 leaving from Groen Park Shelter.

•Cold Cash Bingo at 6:30 p.m. at St Mary’s Catholic Church.

•Chosen Bean Concert with Willy Porter at Chatfield Center for the Arts - Legion Room

at 7:30. Tickets $20. at the door.

Come and get rid of the Winter Blues I Cabin Fever and have a good time. The whole Family will enjoy the day with many fun events.

The Chosen Valley Foundation is sponsoring this years “Chill Fest.”
