Rumble strip installation scheduled in Fillmore County

Fri, Jul 30th, 2010
Posted in State of Minnesota

Motorists can expect brief lane closures as crews install rumble strips in Fillmore County beginning Monday, August 2. Flaggers will control traffic during the lane closures.

AAA Striping Service Co. is the prime contractor for the $221,702 project, which includes Highway 52 in Fillmore and Olmsted counties.

The centerline rumble strips and edge line rumble strips will help prevent head-on collisions and run-off-the-road crashes and improve the safety of the highways.

This safety project is scheduled to be completed by late-August, weather permitting.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
