Mae Y. Johnson, 75, of Mabel, died June 5, 2005 at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, Iowa, from complications of Parkinsons disease.

Mae Landro was born on May 6, 1930, in Hendrum, Minn. She grew up in St. Bonifacius, Minn. On June 21, 1947, she married Harold I. Johnson. They later divorced but were remarried on September 17, 2001. She also lived in Minneapolis. Mrs. Johnson was a former operator of the Countryside Inn of Mabel. She was a resident of the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home for a short time and was a member of the Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Spring Grove.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Carol (Ron) Bjerke of Mabel; three sons, Bruce H. (Sherri) Johnson and Michael P. (Karen) Halvorson, both of Edmond, Okla., and Jim of Oklahoma City, Okla.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Avey (Gene) Roquet of Ada, Minn.; three brothers, Al Landro of Minneapolis, and Stan Maas and Grant Maas, both of St. Bonifacius. She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

The funeral for Mae Y. Johnson was June 9 at Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Spring Grove, with the Rev. Gary Hempal officiating. Burial was in the Old West Paint Creek Cemetery in rural Waukon, Iowa. Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel was in charge of arrangements.
