Wilson - Richard Howard

Richard Howard Wilson, 90, of Harmony, died Monday at his home.

He was born May 28,1913, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Raymond and Louisa (Ullius) Wilson. He grew up on farms in Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota and attended Harmony High School. He married Pauline Amanda Sikkink on Sept. 26, 1936, at her parents' home near Greenleafton. The couple farmed near Granger until moving to the Sikkink farm near Greenleafton in 1949. They resided there until 2000 when the couple moved to Harmony. He was a member of the Greenleafton Reformed Church where he served as a deacon. He also served as Bristol Township clerk for many years. He was a past 4-H leader and a member of the school board for Prairie Queen, a rural district in Bristol Township.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Robert (Karen) of Eagan, Minn.; four daughters, JoAnn (David) Runkel of Harmony, Nancy (Robert) Slykhuis of Perrysburg, Ohio, Sherrie Wilson of Omaha, Neb., and Jackie (Terry) Sahl of Stewartville; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a sister, Mary Lietz (Oliver Johnson) of Harmony. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

The funeral for Richard Howard Wilson was April 24, 2004, at Greenleafton Reformed Church in rural Preston with the Rev. Scott Jorgenson and Roger Lokker officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony was in charge of arrangements.
