Tienter - Leila

Leila Tienter, 90, of Spring Valley, died July 4, 2005 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester from complications following surgery.

Leila Elnora Bremseth was born June 16, 1915, in Lenora, Minn. to Casper and Cora (Wead) Bremseth. On Oct. 18, 1933, she married Vernon Tienter at the Greenleafton church parsonage, and they farmed in Forestville Township, Fillmore County, until 1974, when they retired and moved to Spring Valley. Mr. Tienter died on Aug. 28, 1995. She was a member of Cherry Grove United Methodist Church and its ladies aid.

Survivors include three daughters, Vivian (Darrell) Drinkall of Spring Valley, Beverly (Frank Wernimont) Waibel of Chaska, Minn., and Charlene (Larry) Gates of Lime Springs, Iowa; three sons, Lair of Farley, Iowa, and Curtis and Lynn (Roxie), both of Preston; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; seven sisters, Almeda Engel of Austin, Freda Lobland of Rochester, Martha Vogen of Stewartville, Delores (Pat) Gardner of Poplar Grove, Ill., Louella Tufte of Rockford, Ill., Eva (Clayton) Sorenson of Oakland, Minn., and Ovedia (Everett) Bakken of Wykoff; and two brothers, Kenneth Bremseth of Twin Lakes, Minn., and Richard Bremseth of Rochester. She was preceded in death by one son, two grandsons, three sisters and four brothers.

The funeral for Leila Tienter was July 8 in Cherry Grove United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Rader officiating. Burial was in Cherry Grove Cemetery. Thauwald Funeral Home in Spring Valley was in charge of arrangements.
