Tschmper's Letter To the Editor,

I am writing this letter in support of Larry Connery for Houston County Commissioner, District 2. I believe Mr. Connery is our best choice for Commissioner due to his strength and wisdom in business financing, experience in administration and planning fields, and ethical leadership abilities. His bachelor's degree in Business Administration, U.S. Department of Treasury position as Administrative Officer, participation in Regional Management Quality Improvement teams, and coordination of multi-national corporate audits will serve Houston County well with the current projected shortfalls in revenue our County will soon face.

Mr. Connery's public service record speaks for itself as well. A small sample of his community involvement includes; Western Wisconsin Technical College Advisory Board Accounting Department, Houston School Board member 13 years (nine as chairman), Hiawatha Valley Education District Board (five years, two years as Chairman), Board member and Chairman Houston County Development Activity Center (Networks), and Board member Root River Market Cooperative.

Larry Connery proposes that the projected loss of County revenue can be dealt with through cost containment and effective planning. No one has better experience to follow through with this than he does. Mr. Connery will use his creativity and planning experience to look at alternative ways to make a good Solid Waste Program even better. Our current Solid Waste Program is a money loss to Houston County residents. A new and fresh look at the Solid Waste Program could generate alternative ways to potentially increase revenue from this program.

Larry Connery is not a career politician. He is a good and honest man with a strong focus on family and community welfare. His campaign is being financed at his own expense, rather than the expense of others. Mr. Connery has no false agenda, nor will he waste his years and our time in office focusing on re-election during his term as Houston County Commissioner. Larry Connery is sincere in his commitment to work for us and willing to listen to all ideas from his constituents. I question the philosophy "if it ain't broke don't fix it." Who says it ain't broke, and that we don't need to fix it? Give change a chance, it is exactly what Houston County needs right now.
