Letter about cancer screening

I am writing to praise Rep. Davids for introducing legislation that could help improve cancer screening for women at greater risk for ovarian cancer. House File 1844 would require Minnesota HMOs to provide appropriate ovarian cancer screening for women at high risk. Although ACS does not recommend screening for women at average risk, those who have had breast cancer or who have a family history of breast or ovarian cancer are more likely to develop this disease. Current law already requires insurance for routine cancer test, but House File 1844 would establish a standard for this less common, but still dangerous cancer. I want to thank Rep. Davids for bringing this issue before the state legislation.
