Summary of Minutes
August 23, 2005 County Board Meeting
The Fillmore County Board met in special session at the Courthouse in the City of Preston. All members were present. Also present were the Coordinator/Clerk, County Attorney, Auditor, other department heads and staff, citizens, and two members of the press.
The following resolutions were adopted by the Board:
RESOLUTION 2005-056: South Branch Watershed Project 319 coliform reduction grant.
The Board approved the following agenda items:
•the amended agenda.
•the following amended Consent Agenda:
1.August 9, 2005 County Board minutes.
2.Regular status for Carol Johnson, Custodian, effective August 23, 2005.
3.Invest $600,000.00 of Road & Bridge Funds as recommended by the Auditor/Treasurer.
4.Payment of first half of Dodge-Fillmore-Olmsted Community Corrections appropriation of $66,325.00 to Olmsted County Community Services – Finance.
5.Reinvest $600,000.00 of Road and Bridge Funds as recommended by the Auditor/Treasurer.
•directed County Attorney’s office to handle in-house the probate proceedings for property in Mabel .
•entering into agreement with Erlyn and Sandra Marzolf for a total cost of $1,000.00 for easement access to Parcel A of County farm.
•enter into agreement with Freeborn County for a Household Hazardous Waste Mobile Collection in Mabel this fall.
•access permit to CSAH #8 for Bruce and Linda Bucknell, Section 28, Spring Valley Township.
•accepted resignation from Carol Johnson, Custodian, effective September 8, 2005.
•advertise in-house for a replacement .5 FTE Custodian for Maintenance Department.
•enter into agreement to become lead agency for 11 County SE MN Tobacco-Free Communities.
•accept County Attorney’s request to withdraw his offer to become full time in 2006.
•advertise for a GIS Coordinator, with job description as presented., at Grade 10/Step 1, as classified by Bjorklund Consulting, Inc.
•enter into agreement with MN Counties Insurance Trust to retain First Lab as Third Party Administrator to comply with drug and alcohol testing regulations.
•adopt Labor/Management Safety Emergency Action Plan Policy.
