• Nicole Leigh Busch, 33, of Grand Meadow, was acquitted of all charges by a jury in Fillmore County District Court on June 19.

According to court records, it was alleged that Busch received property stolen from a Spring Valley home in October 2003. The value of the property exceeded $2000 in cash.

Busch was arrested after attempting to cash old and rare coins at a Spring Valley bank. Bush claimed that the coins were paid to her children for some work that they did.

Busch was represented in court by Attorney James McGeeney of Rochester.

Felony Sentencing

• Aaron James McManion, 22, of Chatfield, must serve 90 days in jail, pay a $1000 fine and make restitution of $3,233.50, after pleading guilty to felony burglary. All other charges were dismissed.

McManion admitted to breaking into a Fountain shed in May 2006 and stealing tools and other items, many of which were later pawned in Rochester.

Judge Robert Benson sentenced McManion to 15 months in prison, but stayed execution of sentencing for 10 years. McManion, who must comply with the terms of his probation, was given credit for time served in jail.

McManion was represented by public defender Fred Suhler, Jr.

• Richard Darrell Linaman, Jr., 29, of Spring Valley, must serve 30 days in jail, pay a fine of $2,000 and make restitution of $3816.51 (scheduled at $100 week) after pleading guilty to Wrongfully Obtaining Assistance, a felony. All other charges were dismissed. Linaman was given credit for 21 days served in jail.

Linaman admitted to wrongfully obtaining food stamps and Medical Assistance from Fillmore County in June 2004.

Judge Robert Benson sentenced Linaman to 12 months and one day in prison, but stayed imposition of sentencing for five years. Linaman must comply with the terms of his probation.

Public defender Fred Suhler, Jr. represented Linaman in court.

• Jill Amy Thompson, 34, of Wykoff, must serve 60 days in jail and pay a fine of $1500 after pleading guilty to making Terroristic Threats, a felony. All other charges were dismissed. Restitution was reserved for 30 days. She was given credit for 31 days served in jail.

Thompson admitted to firing three shots from a .22 caliber rifle at a Fillmore man after an argument on May 17, 2006.

Judge Robert Benson sentenced Thompson to 12 months and one day in prison, but imposition of sentencing was stayed for five .....
