CANTON, CALEDONIA, HENRYTOWN, SPRING GROVE AND RICEFORD AREAS EXPERIENCE POWER OUTAGES

Rushford, MN (10:20 a.m. May 7, 2010)- Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TEC) members in areas of Canton, Caledonia, Henrytown, Spring Grove and Riceford began experiencing power outages around 9:30 a.m. As of 10:15 a.m. all power has been restored.



A problem along a transmission line is suspected to be the cause. Transmission lines owned and maintained by Dairyland Power Cooperative provide electricity to TEC substations. At the height of the outage five substations were without power. Each substation serves about 700 members.



While power has been restored, crews from TEC and Dairyland Power Cooperative continue to work together to isolate the problem. Once a cause of the outage has been determined, it will be posted at www.tec.coop.
