Maintaining stored grain quality

By Josh Rain

With poor grain quality we had this year, it is more essential than ever to follow good storage management practices. Without proper management, grain can rapidly deteriorate, resulting in serious economic loss. Good storage management includes:

A well-designed and properly-operated storage system with adequate aeration capacity.

Storing only clean grain at the proper moisture content and temperature.

Checking the grain condition regularly and correcting problems before they get out of hand.
