Support needed from our communities...

The Rushford-Peterson Theater Program needs your help.  For the past few years, the R-P Drama Club has been making efforts to fix and update the theater's facilities, which are sorely in need of improvements.  In the past two years, through the help of the school, a new soundboard, amplifier and CD player have been purchased and installed. This has greatly improved the sound quality in the theater.

The next project is to replace the entire lighting system.  Our current light board and dimmer system is slowly dying due to old age and has been creating some frustrating situations with productions as only a limited amount of lighting channels can be used, while others don't work at all or create bizarre flickering effects that can't be fixed.

The plan with this update is to replace the old light board with a modern light board, which will allow for more flexibility with lighting options.  All the lights will be switched over to a new dimmer pack system, which will create a safer environment for light preparation.  The current circuit breaker box will also be replaced to accommodate the wattage that the new lighting system needs to function.

The total cost of this update has been estimated at around $12,000.  At the time of this letter, R-P Drama Club has raised close to $9,000.  Despite the generous contributions given by many businesses and organizations within the community, we still find ourselves short of the goal.

So, now we are asking you, the individual members of our community, for your help to meet this goal and support the arts program at Rushford-Peterson Schools. We feel fortunate already that we have a school that has a separate auditorium that supports the community and the school with theatrical endeavors.  But, ultimately, our theater needs some tender, loving care to get it back to a functional, updated space.

If you would like to donate funds toward this project, please make out checks to R-P Schools, with a note that states this is for the R-P Drama Club Lighting Project.  Donations can be sent to Forrest Musselman, R-P Schools, PO Box 627, Rushford, MN, 55971.  If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to call at: 507-864-7786  ext. 206 OR email: forrestmusselman@r-pschools.com.

The project is scheduled to be completed in time for the RASA performance this summer. Please rest assured that when we secure the funding fo .....
