St. Charles, known as the Gladiola Capitol, and located at the Gateway to Whitewater State Park to the north and I-90 entrance to S.E. MN. Historic Bluff Country to the south.

It boasts a historic central business district, several year-round restaurants and one seasonal, a bed and breakfast with tea room and gift shop, two motels, antiques and many other shops. There is an 18-hole scenic golf course within city limits; plus trout fishing, hunting, hiking-biking, camping and Amish farm community all less than 10 minutes from town.

Summer festivals include the Winona County Fair in July and Flowerfest during August.
