Bernie A. Brueggeman

Bernie A. Brueggeman, 87, of Wykoff, a retired farmer, died May 13, 2001 at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born May 7, 1914, in Wykoff the son of Oscar and Martha (Timm) Brueggeman. On Sept. 15, 1936, he married Esther Meyer at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wykoff. They farmed in the Wykoff area until 1968, when they retired and moved into town. During retirement, he did carpentry work. Mr. Brueggeman was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served on the church council, also served on the Wykoff Town Council and was a member of Wykoff Senior Citizens. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sharon (Elton) Sikkink of Wykoff, Joyce (Jack) Deyo of Tripoli, Iowa, and Marlene Kasten of Garden Valley, Idaho; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd of Wykoff; and a sister, Florence Shipton of Wykoff.

The funeral for Bernie A. Brueggeman was held May 16, 2001 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wykoff, with the Rev. Jerry Crow officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Thauwald Funeral Home in Wykoff was in charge of arrangements.
