Howard O. Eisenman

Howard Eisenman, 88, of Chatfield, a longtime area farmer, died Monday (March 26, 2001) at Seasons Hospice in Rochester, where he was a patient 12 days.

He was born Dec. 8, 1912, in Spring Valley. On Oct. 16, 1937, he married Beulah Renslow at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Mr. Eisenman farmed in the Spring Valley and Chatfield areas all his working life. He was a member of the DFL, a former president of a county farmers union, one of the first members of the Fish and Game Club in Chatfield, and served on the St. Paul Lutheran Church board and cemetery board.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary (Susan) of Chatfield; a daughter, Sharon (Don) Huntington of Riceville, Iowa; five grandchildren; a half brother, Ralph (Harriet) Eisenman of Spring Valley; and a sister, Francis McCullum of Stewartville. Three brothers and six sisters preceded him in death.

The funeral for Howard O. Eisenman was held Friday, March 30, 2001, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chatfield, with the Rev. Eugene Larrabee officiating. Spring burial will be in the church cemetery.

Riley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
