• Area students graduated in the spring commencement ceremonies of the University of Wisconsin-Madison May 18-20, 2001. They are: Benjamin St Mane Conway,Chatfield, Business: Marketing, Bachelor of Business Administration; Marvin Paul Taylor, Chatfield, Communication Arts, Bachelor of Science; and Amy Christine Schultz, Wykoff, Philosophy, Political Science, Bachelor of Arts.

• Jason William Horihan, of Lanesboro, was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. Ryan Horihan of Lanesboro, earned academic honors for the spring 2001 semester.

• Crystal Marie Maver, Mabel, was awarded a Master of Arts Degree in Art and Design at Iowa State University, Ames, IA.

• Karen Mathison, Preston, a junior in Agricultural Education at UW-River Falls, WI has been selected to be an orientation leader.
