To the Editor,

Voters in the Rushford-Peterson district have a very important decision to make April 23. I've been trying to read all the information on the building issue, and I've heard a lot of opinions. In general, I choose to trust the school board, our elected representatives, who've been working closely with this issue. It makes sense to me that a new building would be more efficient in the long run, rather than a continual line of expensive repair bills on a building that has served the community well over time, but is no longer efficient, or, possibly, safe.

The thought of a higher tax bill is not a pleasant one. But then I ask myself--who paid for my education? I guess it was my parents' and grandparents' generations during a time when people averaged far less 'disposable' income than what we have today. Those generations didn't hesitate to sacrifice for the sake of the future.

I wish my taxes didn't have to go up, but more than that, I wish to be part of building this legacy for the future. I will be voting "yes."
