Donald Doucette, 82, of Chatfield, died Thursday, August 17, 2000, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester of complications following surgery. He had been a patient there since August 14.

Olena Bertena Hendrickson, 103, died Saturday, August 19, 2000, at Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa. Formerly of LeRoy, she had resided in Evans Memorial Home since 1995.
Olena Vold was born January 3, 1897, in Lodi Township, Mower County. She graduated from LeRoy High School in 1916 and received normal teacher training in Austin in 1917. She taught school in the LeRoy area. In 1925, she graduated from Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester and worked as a nurse in Rochester and also in California. On October 19, 1927, she married Herman R. Hendrickson. He died January 30, 1950.
She is survived by a sister, Adah Grube of Cresco. She was preceded in death by four sisters.
The funeral for Mrs. Hendrickson was Wednesday, August 23, 2000, at Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home in LeRoy, with the Rev. Thomas Kolden officiating. Burial was in LeRoy Lutheran Cemetery. Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home in LeRoy was in charge of arrangements.
