Vera Roesler, 94, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, in Howard County Hospital.
Vera Fisher was born January 8, 1906, in rural Greene, IA. When she was 8, her family moved to the Lime Springs area where she spent the rest of her life. She married Harold Roesler in 1925. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church since 1940 where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was active in the Ruth Circle. In 1970, she was one of five founders of the Spring Apartments Board, serving until she moved into an apartment in 1976. In 1971, she was one of the first four officers founding the Senior Citizens Club. She was a member of the Friendship Bible Class since she moved to the Spring Apartments in 1976.
Survivors include a son, Bernard (Betty) in Lime Springs; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; two step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ceola Sullivan of Fredericksburg, IA; and a brother, Milton Fisher of Huntsville, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, five brothers and two sisters.
The funeral for Mrs. Roesler was held Saturday, August 26, 2000 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lime Springs. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Lime Springs was in charge of arrangements.
