Landherr - Wilmer

Wilmer Landherr, 86, of Stacyville, Iowa died April 1, 2004 in Mitchell County Regional Health Center at Osage, Iowa.

Born on April 5, 1917, in Adams, he grew up near Rose Creek. He married Evangeline Gerber on Oct. 14, 1944, in Johnsburg, Minn. The couple farmed west of Stacyville. Mr. Landherr was a 21-year member of the board of directors of Stacyville Community Nursing Home, serving as its secretary for many years. He also was active on the Visitation School Board and with the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, James of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ronald (Audrey) of Marion, Iowa, Thomas (Elaine) and Harold (Vicki) both of Stacyville and John (Annette) of Marshalltown, Iowa; five daughters, Mary Jean (David) Johnson of DeWitt, Iowa; Janet (Dwight) Jorgensen of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Kathryn (Wayne) Halvorson of Chatfield, Annette Hagen of Northwood, Iowa; and Ruth (James) Dieterich of Galesburg, Ill.; 33 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Velma Matheis of Adams, Betty Landherr of LeRoy, and Louise Landherr of Austin. He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and two grandchildren.

The funeral for Wilmer Landherr was April 3, 2004 in Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, Iowa, with the Rev. Mark Reasoner officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
