Dorothy Fae Heidlebaugh

Dorothy Fae Heidlebaugh, 87, formerly of Spring Valley, a longtime newspaper correspondent, died Nov. 24, 2002 at Ostrander Nursing Home.

Dorothy Fae Kellogg was born Jan. 19, 1915, in Spring Valley to William H. Kellogg and Rhoda E. (Hague) Kellogg. She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1933. On Sept. 29, 1937, she married Lawrence E. Heidlebaugh in Spring Valley. They lived in Long Beach, Calif., for 3 1/2 years and returned to Spring Valley in 1942. Mr. Heidlebaugh died Dec. 19, 1976. She was a correspondent for the Rochester Post-Bulletin for nearly 30 years and for the Spring Valley Tribune for 43 years. Mrs. Heidlebaugh was a member of the former Methodist Memorial Church where she taught Sunday school, served as Sunday school superintendent and was president of WSCS. She was a charter member of Faith United Methodist Church and active in United Methodist Women. She was a charter member of Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, served as its president and was a life member of the historical society. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, reading and charity work.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth of Spring Valley and Darol of Cannon Falls; and two grandchildren.

The funeral for Dorothy Fae Heidlebaugh was Nov. 29, 2002 at Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley, with the Rev. William Rowen officiating. Burial was in the Wykoff Cemetery. Hindt Hutchins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
