Gerald Elton

Gerald Reuben Elton, 75, of Woodville died August 6, 2003 at his residence following an illness with cancer.

Gerald Elton was born on March 28, 1928 in Harmony, Minn.; the son of Reuben and Mae Louise (Culberton) Elton. He was raised in Canton, Minn. graduating from Canton High School in the class of 1946. Following this, he enlisted in the armed forces where he served in the United State Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950 until 1953. On September 14, 1973, he was united in marriage to Myrna Mae Naese at the Methodist Church in Rice Lake. In 1976, the Elton’s made Woodville their home. Many developed lasting friendships with Gerry through his 30 years as a painter and 20 years as owner of Gerry’s Trailer Roost. Gerry was also a dedicated member of the First United Presbyterian Church and was a proud member of the Woodville American Legion Post 301.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years Myrna, daughter Vicki Zafft of Seabeck, Wash., sons Donald (Denise) of Beaufort, South Carolina, Steven (Danita) of Kasson, Minn., ten grandchildren, sister Cleo (James) Cieminski of Aurora, Colo. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Elizabeth, and sister Colene Rice.

The funeral was August 10, 2003 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Baldwin, Wisc., with Pastor LeRoy Haines officiating. Interment was in the Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake, Wisc.
