Ferguson - Eleanor F.

Eleanor F. Ferguson, 88, of rural Chatfield, formerly of Rochester, died February 7, 2004 at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, where she had been a patient one day.

Eleanor F. Eddy was born Sept. 19, 1915, in rural Chatfield. On May 19, 1931, she married Raymond Ferguson in Rochester. They lived in rural Wykoff and then in rural Chatfield before moving to Rochester. Mrs. Ferguson returned to Chatfield four years ago. She had worked at Woolworth's in Rochester and at Leo's Bakery in Chatfield. Her husband was a loader operator for Quarve & Anderson. He died in 1984. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Rochester and the ladies aid at Chatfield Lutheran Church and was a Senior Citizen volunteer.

Survivors include a son, Gerald of Apache Junction, Ariz.; four daughters, Arlene (Vernon) Finley and Marla Rae (Jerome) Finley, both of Chatfield, Meredith (Donald) Bakken of Stewartville and Karen (Omer) Hendrix of Rochester; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, LuVerne (Kathleen) Eddy and Leland (Evelyn) Eddy, both of Rochester. She was preceded in death by two granddaughters and a brother.

The funeral for Eleanor F. Ferguson was February 12, 2004 at Chatfield Lutheran Church, with the Revs. Eric Finsand and Christine Finsand officiating. Spring burial will be in Stone Church Cemetery in rural Chatfield. Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield was in charge of arrangements.
