Letter about animal care

To the Editor,

I feel the need to address the cruel, irresponsible, uneducated pet owners that made the decision to drop of five helpless kittens at the Sportsmans Park in Mabel, Minn. When you become a pet owner, you have certain responsibilities. You spay or neuter the pet if you don’t want babies. If you have babies, you find homes for them. Under no circumstances it is ever okay to dump them off! Would you dump off your children along the road? Well that’s exactly what you did. Left to starve to death and freeze. Shame on you! Some people think they wil hunt rodents and survive. I know different from years of living here. And yes they wandered up to our place starving and scared to death. So we called the Humane Society and brought them to get spayed, neutered and to find loving homes. Your problem became our problem and so on. Below is a list of agencies if someone finds a lost pet or is in the desperate situation never do the unimaginable like these losers!

•Winona Area Humane Society: 507-895-2066

•Camp Companion:

507-951-7801

•Sake haven Pet Rescue:

507-292-9122

•Coulee Region Humane Society:

608-781-4014

*Need vet check if crossing the state line.

I encourage everyone to donate to these wonderful organizations to help cover cost in taking care of the homeless critters and finding them good homes. Or please visit and adopt a pet that needs a second chance at a good life.

Cruel people suck!
