Letter about where’s Jeremy?... To the Editor,

Mon, May 23rd, 2016
Posted in Lanesboro Letter to the Editor

Sen. Miller has missed another important day at the Capitol. Despite representing a college town and being the minority lead on the Senate Higher Education Committee, he missed Friday’s hearing of the higher education finance bill. The hearing was to invest new money in our colleges and universities.

We shouldn’t be surprised - it follows a pattern for Miller. Few Senators miss as many votes as he does, and rarely does he ever attend Friday hearings. Sen. Miller missed 28% of all role-call floor votes in the senate in 2015.

We need someone who will work for their constituents every day, including Fridays. While for most of us the workweek is Monday through Friday, it appears this schedule doesn’t work for Sen. Miller. We need a real senator who will work every day for their constituents.

I pledge to be a senator who is visible and available both in the district and in St. Paul. I’ve been disappointed by the number of votes and days Sen. Miller has missed in the past four years, which means our district has not had a voice when decisions are being made.

Fully understanding the danger presented by this black bear, I cannot understand why the DNR killed it instead of tranquilizing and relocating. It’s not like we have huandreds of bears roaming the area. And this is not the first time that wild ani .....

We moved to Chatfield one year ago from Lanesboro. We love the community so far, but I have noticed a huge problem with the pedestrian safety in the downtown area. I always yield to pedestrians; on multiple occasions I have been passed on the right a .....
