Abbie Jo Flynn, 23, of Hager City, WI, was sentenced to 365 days in jail after pleading guilty to burglary; all other charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
According to court records, Flynn admitted to participating in the burglary of the Lanesboro High School on October 2, 2003, where money was stolen from a safe.
Judge Robert Benson ordered Flynn to serve 10 days beginning on July 1, 2007, and 10 days the beginning of each successive month. In addition, Flynn was fined $1500, ordered to pay restitution of $1195.81, and serve 100 hours of community service. Flynn must also write a letter of apology to the school.
Casey Thomas Merchlewitz, 22, of Winona, was sentenced to 366 days in prison after being found guilty by a jury of assault. Judge Benson stayed imposition of sentencing for five years.
According to the criminal complaint, on June 13, 2004, Merchlewitz punched and kicked an Amish man during an altercation in rural Fillmore County.
Judge Benson ordered Merchlewitz to serve 180 days in jail. In addition, Merchlewitz was fined $2000, ordered to pay restitution of $1037, and write a letter of apology to the victim.
