On December 7, 2009, Jay Allen Quandahl, a 43-year old male from Preston, appeared before Judge Robert R. Benson facing one count of terroristic threats, one count of assault in the fifth degree and one count of disorderly conduct. If convicted on all three counts, Quandahl could face a maximum penalty of 180 days in the county jail and five years in prison, along with up to $12,000 in fines. On or about July 19, 2009, Preston Police Officer Tony Webber was called to the Quandahl residence regarding an incident that involved his son and the son of Glenn Winslow. According to the report, Mr. Winslow came to his home to find out what happened and entered the house without Mr. Quandahl's consent. A fight broke out between the two men. The defendant allegedly made threats of killing both Mr. Winslow and his son if they came onto his property again. At some point in this confrontation Mr. Winslow allegedly assaulted the defendant, resulting in Mr. Quandahl calling the police.

Judge Benson set unconditional bail at $10,000. Mr. Quandahl's next court appearance has been set for December 30, 2009.
