Opening day at Historic Forestville and horse-drawn wagon rides

Historic Forestville is proud to announce the upcoming 2010 tour season! Historic Forestville will kickoff public tours of the 19th century village site on Saturday, May 29, 2010. The special event that will coincide with opening day is "South Forestville in Territorial Times." This will include a horse-drawn wagon ride through the historic remains of the south side of the village. You will experience a guided interpretive tour studying the foundations and remains along Main Street and beyond. This will include the location of the town square, the Marsh Hotel and distillery sites, identification and location of blocks, lots and streets of the earliest period of the town site and its ruins.

Historic Site tours begin with the new hours for 2010 of Thursday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday tours will run 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. The tour season will run Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Please see website at www.mnhs.org for a complete list of 2010 special events.
