THE LANESBORO BARN DANCE STARTS ITS NINETEENTH SEASON

The Lanesboro Barn Dance will hold its first dance of the 2013 series on Saturday March 23 at the Sons of Norway Hall in Lanesboro, MN. Starting time is 8:00 PM and admission is $7.00 at the door.
Guest fiddler Tim Foss from Soldiers Grove, WI will join regulars Bob Bovee and Gail Heil for a rollicking evening of traditional square dances, big circles, waltzes, polkas and schottisches. Heil will be teaching and calling the organized dances with Bovee on guitar and harmonica and Foss on fiddle providing the music.
Although it’s good to know right from left before you come, no other knowledge or experience is required. All organized dances are taught and you don’t need to bring a partner. This is like the old-fashioned barn dances that were once the mainstay of entertainment in this part of the country. Just come prepared to have a good time.
This event is presented in cooperation with the southeastern Minnesota Arts Council through funding from the Minnesota State Legislature.
