Arts and cultural heritage fund grant program

Fri, Jan 29th, 2010
Posted in Arts & Culture

The Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council, Inc. (SEMAC) is pleased to announce the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund Grant Program, which will provide grants up to $10,000 for innovative arts activities that increase access to the arts, life-long arts learning opportunities, and cultural experiences. This program is made possible by the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, a fund created by the people of Minnesota to support the arts and preserve our cultural heritage. The Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment was passed overwhelmingly by Minnesota Voters in November 2008. This constitutional amendment created new resources for land and water conservation, parks, and the arts. SEMAC has been entrusted with a portion of these public funds and will provide grants to support activities in three key areas as specified in the Minnesota

Constitution:

• Arts and Arts Access

• Arts Education

• Arts and Cultural Heritage

Applications for the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund grants application deadlines for calendar year 2010 are as follows: February 1, April 1, June 15, and October 1. Application forms may be duplicated. Electronic versions of the application form and instructions may be found on the SEMAC website http://www.semac.org.

SEMAC strongly encourages applicants to research and develop projects that incorporate two or more of the key areas with an emphasis on creating lasting partnerships among regional nonprofit arts organizations and other nonprofit groups.

Please share this information with any and all potentially interested individuals, groups and organizations. For further information, contact: Robin Pearson, Executive Director, 507-281-4848 or director@semac.org
