Incognito and Author Michael Fedo will take the stage on "Lanesboro Live"

Lanesboro, Minn. - The 11-member powerhouse band Incognito will rock the stage at the St. Mane Theatre at the upcoming “Lanesboro Live! Conversation, Comedy & Cool Jams . . .” show on Sunday, June 16 at 7 p.m. Host Damon Prestemon will also welcome writer Michael Fedo onstage to talk about his book A Sawdust Heart, as well as guest comedians (tba). Always a favorite, house band The CBB Jazz Combo, led by Nathan Davidson, will provide excellent music, with Damon joining them on piano for a number. This is a perfect opportunity to spend the day and evening in Lanesboro – enjoy the annual Father’s Day ‘Art in the Park’ Festival in Sylvan Park, and then take in the show that evening!

Duluth, Minn. native Michael Fedo is a former correspondent for The New York Times. He has written five nonfiction books in addition to A Sawdust Heart: My Vaudeville Life in Medicine and Tent Shows by Henry Wood as Told to Michael Fedo. His writings have appeared in publications including the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, Newsday and the Christian Science Monitor. The story is that of Henry Wood, who left his Wisconsin home in 1910 at the age of twelve for a stint of thirty years of traveling with medicine and tent shows that featured various vaudeville acts, from skits to full-length plays. “Henry Wood died in 1983, just short of his 85th birthday. How fortunate that Fedo took the time to write down his memories of an almost-forgotten period in the history of entertainment,” writes Mary Ann Grossman of St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Incognito plays an extensive variety of music, from rock to jazz, earning ‘Favorite Band’ status throughout southeast Minnesota and surrounding regions. The band genuinely has fun on stage! With Mary Lieser and Randy Wylde on lead vocals, a rhythm section (keyboard, guitar, bass, drums/percussion), and ‘undercover horns’ (two saxes, two trumpets and one trombone), the band creates a rhythm and spontaneity that leaves audiences energized.

The “Lanesboro Live” show is the creation of Lanesboro’s talented keyboardist & vocalist Damon Prestemon, who has a reputation for being on-his-toes onstage. Damon is shaping the show throughout the season in a talk show and guest/audience participation format. “We’re building something great . . . if you like to laugh, sing, or hear a good story, come on out and join us,” says Damon. Throughout .....
