The Real Housewives of Cricket County coming to Chatfield

We've heard of these ladies. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Atlanta, New Jersey...Cricket County.
Did you say "Cricket County?"
That's right, the next take on socialite living and high-powered lifestyles takes us to the backwoods dealings of some colorful women, their friends, and their husbands, courtesy of the Chatfield High School One Act Play Group.
"The Real Housewives of Cricket County" will be presented at Potter Auditorium in Downtown Chatfield on Saturday, March 12th, at 7:30 p.m. (box office opens at 7 p.m.), and Sunday, March 13th, at 2 p.m. (box office opens at 1:30 p.m.)
The play, written by Eddie McPherson, is being directed by Tony Cole from the Wit's End Theater. The actors-playing 18 characters in all-are all local Chatfield students, ranging from 7th through 12th graders.
"It's a really funny comedy for all ages," says Cole. "The kids have worked hard in rehearsals--their Southern hillbilly accents are getting better each day. People are going to enjoy this!"
Cricket County ("a place where the words 'road kill' and 'stew' are often used in the same sentence") gets downright interesting when Monica Northcutt, a socialite from the BIG city, moves to town and is more than eager to help the local ladies in the areas of love and matrimony. A quiltin' party is organized with Monica and her husband as special guests. When some well-aged "mystery juice" is introduced to the drinking water, real feelings come out and the fun begins.
Along the way you'll meet characters named Bodean, Chigger, Hattie, Fester and Imogene, and have a down-home, knee-slapping good time learning the "Cricket County Pearls of Wisdom."
Tickets are available at the box office on the day of the show.
"I'm extremely proud of the students in the play," says Director Cole. "It's been my pleasure to direct them and we hope many will come out to enjoy the show."
